Infection Control (8 Hour Course)
A dental assistant, who has been in continuous employment for 120 days or more, must complete a board-approved 8 hour course in Infection Control within a year of the date of employment:
In this course students will learn that standard precautions are a group of infection prevention practices that apply to all patients, regardless of suspected or confirmed infection status, in any setting in which healthcare is delivered as mandated by California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA). Discussions and hands-on procedures including cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing and critical items will be covered.
